Dr Bobby Chan works together with various health professionals to provide specialist endocrinology and diabetes treatments.

Referrer Information

For GPs and Specialists who would like to discuss a referral:

  • Dr Chan can be contacted through our reception team or practice manager
  • All referrals will be triaged accordingly.
  • Urgent referrals (pregnancy-related endocrine disorders, highly labile or erratic blood glucose levels and thyrotoxicosis) will be seen within a week by one of our endocrinologists after discussion.
  • Correspondence will be sent back to the referrer promptly by fax, mail or Healthlink.


Areas of Expertise

Diabetes

  • Type 1, 2 and gestational diabetes
  • Complication screening
  • Commence insulin or injectables
  • Provide glucometer and test strips
  • NDSS registration


Thyroid

  • Hyper and hypothyroidism
  • Thyroid nodules evaluation
  • Thyroid cancer surveillance


Osteoporosis

  • Minimal trauma fracture screening
  • Screening for secondary causes
  • Commence on Intravenous antiresorptive and teriparatide.


Obesity

  • Commence different weight loss medications
  • Commence on injectables such as Saxenda
  • Enrolment to the Saxenda patient helping hand programme
  • Work closely with a dietitian and an exercise physiologist


Metabolic syndrome

  • Screening for secondary causes
  • Commence weight loss medications
  • Wholistic approach and personalised to each patient’s need
  • Enrollment to the metabolic programme if suited


General endocrinology disorder

  • Pituitary disease
  • Adrenal disease
  • Testosterone deficiency
  • Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
  • Gender reassignment
